Planit Design Super Mini
Planit has be supporting car number 31 since 2006 as a 1000cc mini-7 competing in the Super Mini Challenge, after 2 years the team upgraded to the 1380cc class and ran it for 8 years. 2016 was the year the team started building a brand new car for the series, we decide to enter open class which allowed us to build any thing except to two only rules today has to be original body and the engine must power the wheels it sits over, so we went with RWD and added the power plant from a Honda.
The engine is mounted in the back behind the drivers seat and is from a prelude that was fully built with forged internals and custom piston giving is a 12:1 compression ratio the gearbox is from a Honda Euro-R which has a 5 speed LSD the package is making around 200hp, Link was the choice for computers along with a digital dash and in-car communications back to the pits. It sits on 13x8 front wheels and 13x9 rear wheels with 4 pot brakes and coil over suspension all round. |
